GaDangme Community Hamburg e.V. a well- established GaDangme Union located in Hamburg, Germany has it at heart to preserve the GaDangme culture and tradition by practising it in the diaspora.

The union is well-known for its vital contribution towards the uplifting of the GaDangme culture – through the annual Hɔmɔwɔ, Asafotufiam and Ŋmayem Festival they constantly celebrated before the outbreak of the pandemic.

Aside that GaDangme Community Hamburg e.V. which is as well a member of the association, GaDangme Europe has it as one of its objectives to give back to the GaDangme society through minor projects.

In the first quarter of the year, precisely on the 23rd of March 2023, the union donated exercise books and text books to the Ashiyie AdMA Basic School, at Ampoma Estate at the Adenta Municipal. The union anticipates to promote and assist the teaching of the Ga language in the above mentioned school.

The donation was led by Mrs Esther Naa Baden, the president of GaDangme Community Hamburg e.V. and owner of the renowned Kaneshie Market in Hamburg. On behalf of the union, Mrs Esther Naa Baden expressed her sincerest gratitude to Madam Deborah Okine from the JHS department of the Ashiyie AdMA Basic School who has seen to it that the Ga language is not exempted from the curriculum of the students studying Ghanaian local languages in the school.

GaDangme Community Hamburg e.V. has made the first approach and is appealing to other fellow GaDangme unions in Ghana and in the diaspora to also support which ever way they can to strengthen the schools in the Greater Accra Region teaching the GaDangme languages, so as to keep the language and culture alive.
